Join us on the Grand British Textile Tour from September 24 – October 3, 2023.
Experience a handmade journey through London and the Cotswolds with an intimate group of like-minded textile lovers. This tour is a celebration of the deep, fiber-related history of the region. We will experience the best in fashion (both contemporary and historical), learn about the ever-influential Arts and Crafts movement, and visit modern artists who are bringing back heritage crafts.
The tour begins in London. This ever-changing metropolis is a vibrant hub of design with inspiration around every corner. Here, fashion is our focus. Take a behind-the-scenes tour of the legendary Savile Row, immerse yourself in the vibrant costume of the Georgian era, and discover the connection between 18th-century costume and contemporary red-carpet looks.
Our time in London will also bring us in contact with textile designers who are making a splash in the worlds of fashion, interiors, and art. First-time visitors to London are ensured trips to must-see sites, plus a luxurious afternoon tea.
From London, we will venture to the glorious countryside of the Cotswolds. We will stay in the exquisite town of Bath, where you are welcome to live out all of your Jane Austen fantasies as we explore the city and interiors of the Georgian era. Bath is just the beginning – the Cotswolds are a treasure trove of quaint villages, beautiful and historic homes, and talented artists.
After our time in the Cotswolds, we head back to London to dive into one of the world’s best costume history collections at the Victoria and Albert Museum. A celebratory dinner will cap off our memorable journey together.
