Fun Links for The New Year
I’ve been celebrating the new year by making plans for 2023 – garden plans, house project plans, and of course, travel plans! I’ve been busy working on an itinerary for a late-September Grand British Textile Tour. On this trip, we will be exploring some fabulous new experiences, stay tuned for the full details.
In the meantime, I’ve rounded up a few videos I thought you might like to watch, as well as a fascinating fiber artist to check out.
This video is for my fellow ribbon lovers! HGTV Handmade posted a video of Rajiv Surendra touring East Coast Trimming in New York, and I’m here to tell you that I’ve been dreaming of velvet, silk, and cotton grosgrain ribbon ever since.
Suzie Grieve of Foraged Fibers makes the most beautiful tiny baskets out of, unsurprisingly, foraged fibers. Check out her Instagram page where she has inspiring photos, videos, and tips for weaving your own.
Cold, grey January is the month for garden planning. This video from last year’s Chelsea Flower Show was just the thing to get me inspired to get out the seed catalogs. Hosted by Dominic Chinea, from the TV show The Repair Shop, it is a fun look at some of the crafts featured at the flower show.
Speaking of Chelsea, I’ve always wanted to do a Fabric & Flowers tour that includes the Chelsea Flower Show. Am I the only one who thinks that would be fun? Let me know if that is something you want in the future!
